“The Life We Lead” is a monthly cable-access television series that promotes and documents punk culture in the Boston and New England areas. The show is cablecast through Comcast, which serves the Greater Boston area, and is hosted by BNN-TV, Boston Neighborhood Network, on channel 23. RCN subscribers may also catch the show on channel 83 in certain towns.

“The Life We Lead” series tells its story through the very culture it documents. This story evolves from live footage, interviews, music videos, and commentary. Multiple stories lend multiple perspectives, ensuring a fresh, provocative perspective of our way of life. There is, in my opinion, nothing else like “The Life We Lead” on television today. At least, not in Boston.

The beauty of this concept is the absence of the trappings of commercial television: there are no advertisements constantly bombarding you, no one is trying to sell you anything, nothing is censored. What you see is what you get. That’s how it is and always has been in the punk world. Without pretense, the show provides raw, in-the-moment footage of, and commentary by, those who live the scene on a daily basis.

This show is not about me. It is about us. Our world, our music, our scene. This is The Life We Lead.

What People Are Saying:

"...the half-hour show’s production values alone set it apart from the cable-access pack. But its real appeal is how Huck casts his TV eye on a vibrant youth culture, offering an earnest, enlightening glimpse at the Hub’s far-flung but close-knit scene."

- Mike Milliard, The Boston Phoenix

"'The Life We Lead' gives bands a chance to get their names out into the scene....There's so many great bands that don't get the recognition they deserve. I've seen the time and effort [Huck] puts into it, and he's helping a lot of bands."

- Ken Casey, Dropkick Murphys

"The program has the feel and character that the music has given for years. From interviews where full bands live together in a closet apartment, to the clubs where they perform, The Life We Lead is like Decline of Western Civilization meets 60 Minutes."

- Zsid, RadioBoston

"It's nice to see someone doing such hard work to show us all how lucky we are to be a city with so many cool bands."

- Ed, Lawrence, MA

"Oh my god. This is one of the most amazing things I've ever heard of in my time. Its great what you guys are doing. Our society really needs a better understanding for its sub cultures, and I don't see a better way of expressing it and educating people."

- Raven Angst, Knoxville, TN
